Y2K all over again

March 28, 2006

I hate missing the bus. I always sit at home feeling guilty for missing the lecture I should be at. Sometimes I skip lectures and that slides freely off my concience.
Why did I miss my bus and inherent lecture? Because of the stupid daylight savings mixup.
Now, normally I dont have any issues with daylight savings. [...]

The Cupboard

March 27, 2006

As a treat for you all tonight I am going to take you on a guided tour of my cupboard.

1 – Older books and manuals. The Netscape Communicator 4 book I won from a under 16s web development competition in ‘98, I have never used it but I keep it for sentimental reasons.
2 – My [...]

The diary cover that wasnt

March 20, 2006

If you haven’t seen the diary cover for the Adelaide University Union diary its a piece of rubbish. Looks like somebody juxtapositioned a few images then scribbled with the mouse.

Trainspotting

March 19, 2006

“The down side of coming off world of warcraft was that I knew I would need to mix with my friends again in a state of full consciousness. It was awful: they reminded me so much of myself I could hardly bear to look at them. Take Sick Boy, for instance, he came off world [...]

You see, my PDA, despite being incredibly useful in organising my timetables and wasting plenty of time falls short of what I need in a mobile computing platform. Its just too small to take notes on and if [...]

The Leone: a tribute

March 6, 2006

What can you say about a car which offered so little but gave so much. With the potential to be a disaster on wheels with even the power to kill us all, the little car despite its obvious flaws treated us well.

The Subaru Leone GL-5 was never meant to be anything other than an all [...]

Car vs Bus – round 1 recap

March 3, 2006

Well I did it… Drove to uni 5 times for less than taking the bus.
I am quite supprised really, that means that you can go the whole way from my house to uni on less than an ice coffee carton of petrol. Thats one of those smaller sized coke bottles. Thats not a lot of [...]

Use your head

It has come to my attention that an increasing number of people are taking their heads into their own hands and riding bikes without helmets.
It seems to me that the substantial increase in safety that is gained by wearing a helmet is significantly greater than the slight loss of coolness that is sacrificed by wearing [...]

Car vs Bus – round 1

March 1, 2006

I dont like taking the bus… Noone does
Its uncomfortable, its inconvenient and when coming home at 5:00 in the afternoons on a crowded 163 you literally have a sweaty bald man sitting on your lap it is so crowded.
Cars on the other hand are convenient, they are comfortable and the bald man factor is essentially [...]
